HI, I'M EMMA

I’m the founder of Melting Pot Creations, and I’ve been working in and around communication, messaging, and strategy for over 20 years.
Before I ever called myself a copywriter, I worked in corporate roles as a business manager and project manager. What that taught me, very early on, is that organisations only really work when there’s a clear golden thread showing people why they do what they do, how it contributes to the bigger picture, and where the business is heading.
Content works in exactly the same way.

I don’t see writing as a separate creative exercise.

I see it as the communication layer of your business strategy. When your messaging reflects your purpose, your goals, and the value you deliver, your audience can feel that.
It builds trust and understanding and makes it far more likely that people will engage.
I work with a small team of freelance writers who are all building their own businesses too. We have a spread of preferred topics, styles and experience.

A bit about how we work and what we believe

There are a lot of wild claims online these days about the results marketing can have for your business.
But, at Melting Pot, we work in a world where budgets are tight and businesses are growing organically.
Our clients don't have thousands to throw at paid ads, or the resources within their business to process hundreds of leads every day.
If they're honest, they probably don't even want to 10X their business overnight. Not because they don't want the money or success, but because that sort of growth needs structure and process of its own.

Marketing is not a silver bullet.

There are no hacks and, despite what you might read, spamming or click-baiting your audience isn’t the way forward.
People don't buy services if they feel hoodwinked. They also don't fall for empty claims or promises of play books that are perfect for their business.

Content strategy development

The act of selling has become taboo because there are a handful of people who insist on trying to game the system by promising that if you send enough cold outreach messages, you'll eventually get a sale.
What happens to your reputation during that process?
What do your connections think of you when all you do is pitch slap them as soon as they connect?
Where is the trust?
We think it's time we started talking more about normal marketing, about bootstrapped business growth, and about the realities of growing a business in a somewhat broken economy.

Let’s chat about surrounding you with content

If you are a people focused service business and you'd like to talk about surrounding yourself with content that will build trust and credibility and attract people who genuinely want to do business with you, we'd love to hear from you.
